About us
Cultura Henko is a non-profit association founded in 2024, built on more than a decade of accumulated experience in the independent cultural sector. This previous trajectory has shaped a creative ecosystem that connects art, technology, and social commitment, and which is now entering a new associative stage with a transformative vocation.
This trajectory is further strengthened by professionals with experience in creation, communication, and cultural management, who help expand the project’s capacity to generate social and cultural impact.
Here’s how we got here.
Tramando Producciones
2010-2014
Between 2010 and 2014, we brought Tramando Producciones to life, a self-managed cultural platform born in Barcelona. During those years, we organized concerts, tours, and independent music series with one goal: to create space for emerging, brave, and unique voices.
Without institutional support and entirely funded from our own pockets, the project was sustained by our commitment to a scene that deserved to be supported and nurtured. We worked with artists such as Steve Smyth, Joan Colomo, Ljubliana & The Seawolf, and Tomás Aristimuño, betting on a model of artisanal, ethical, and collective production.
Tramando was a laboratory of learning, community, and grassroots cultural action. This experience is part of the DNA of Cultura Henko.
Tramando Producciones
2016-2020
After a brief pause, in 2015 we resumed the activity of Tramando Producciones with a new focus: the creation of audiovisual content centered around music and emerging art. This stage marked a transition from concert production to the development of our own formats that portrayed independent talent through an intimate and committed perspective.
During these years, we conceived and created a series of portrait-style interviews that documented artists at the very moment before their public breakthrough. Our intention remained the same: to highlight unique voices, create a cultural archive, and bring sensitivity to the artistic ecosystem.
We also produced the commemorative short film of the 15 years of Foehn Records, a documentary piece that captured the essence of one of the most influential record labels in the experimental and alternative scene in Spain.
The audiovisual project from this stage surpassed one and a half million views on YouTube and consolidated a transgenerational creative community. It was an intense and fruitful period, which we closed after the pandemic to make way for a new cycle.
That seed now blossoms in Cultura Henko.
Cultura Henko
2024-hoy
Cultura Henko was born in early 2024 as the natural evolution of a previous trajectory in the field of independent culture. After more than a decade promoting cultural projects, the association is entering a new stage aimed at integrating art, technology, communication, and social commitment within a shared working space.
This trajectory is further enriched by profiles from the fields of creation, communication, and cultural management, which broaden the project’s capacity to connect with diverse audiences and generate social and cultural impact.
Henko is a Japanese word that describes a change so profound that it does not allow a return to the past. Guided by this premise, Cultura Henko channels all this previous experience into projects with transformative impact: stage, audiovisual, and educational creations with a gender perspective, an intersectional approach, and an international outlook.
More than a cultural organization, Cultura Henko is a living ecosystem that connects artists, collectives, and territories. A space born from the desire to create community, activate narratives, and generate new ways of telling, inhabiting, and transforming the present.
